Lesson Plan Summary
- Warm-up
- Project a satellite image of the school. Where would you fly? Where wouldn't you?
- Direct instruction
- Pilots evaluate airspace, obstacles, privacy, line of sight, people nearby, and restricted areas before flying. Demo the B4UFLY airspace concept.
- Guided activity
- Run the Safe Zone Mapper; mark hazards on a sample site. In-app activity: Safe Zone Mapper. Related mission: obstacle.
- Assessment
- Student maps three hazards on a sample site. Complete the 5-question in-app quiz; reteach any question missed by more than 30% of students.
